folding rear seat catch not releasing

Both my rear seat catches aren't releasing when i try to fold them down. Anyone know how to release them through the trim panel in the boot? Only just discovered this whilst trying to fix a rear washer jet leak!

i've got the same problem on one side. Use a flathead screwdriver to lift the catch......takes a few attemtps but should open.
