Afternoon,

I need to change the short (nearside) shaft on my FWD 8P 2.0 TDI.

I've got male spline tools for the inner CV bolts - but does anyone know the correct torque setting for those?

Been a few weeks since I was doing the suspension but I seem to remember it had a large 12pt bolt at the hub end. I'm guessing that's a spline rather than a normal 12pt? If so, what size is it as I'll need to get one. Also can anyone confirm that it's 200Nm plus 180degrees?

Thanks
Tom

I cant recall inner shaft torques, but the torque for hub bolt is dependent on the bolt itself, but iirc 200 plus 180 was correct mostly, but tbh I couldn't turn it 180 & I'm not exactky weak, afaik.

40Nm for the M10? spline bolts to the gearbox

XZN (triple square/Spline): 70Nm+90deg (BTW it's a bolt you're supposed to replace)

Turned out it's a 6pt on that side...and a 12pt on the other, obviously ones been changed lol.

I went with the 200Nm + 180°...but couldn't turn more than about 90°. Doubt it'll fall off anyway.
