Hopefully a quick question!
I've been driving down to London quite a bit lately - it's a 130 mile trip. Chuck it into efficiency mode and cruise control. Never noticed a regen take place - but as soon as I selected dynamic mode a regen started (annoyingly just as I parked up :expressionless:).

So does dynamic mode need to be selected - or was this a coincidence ?

2014 BiTDI.

Cheers

Running the car is ECO mode keeps the revs low, typically below 2000rpm, and therefore doesn't burn of the soot. I'd suggest that you stick in Sport or Manual mode for about 15 mins in total and keep the revs above 2000prm.

mines always in eco mode and it regens 2/3 times a week

Same here - I only notice the acrid smell when in dynamic and of course the fans start running. Maybe they do a less aggressive regen in eco?
I don't see much difference in MPG between eco and dynamic anyway, so I'll keep it in dynamic from now on.

Is there a way to check soot levels with VCDS ?

I'm new here and know post is old but if u don't find yet u have to go to engine and then advanced measure value and there u can check dpf.
