Starting a thread for the car. Picked it up from Wearside Audi at a very reasonable price and loving it so far, lovely to drive!
Got a few things I want to do to it, mainly clean it up. It needs to go back to Audi to have one of the wheels refurbed, this was meant to be done for collection but they managed to refurb one bad wheel and one good one and leave a wheel with a curb mark... not off to the best of starts with the dealer.
First things first was to debadge the rear.
Dental floss, heat gun and some persuasion.
Much prefer this look for the car.
I then wanted to clean it and inspect the paintwork see what I was working with.
Never had to clay a car so much! Was absolutely pitted, spent an age getting every last bit off each panel.
Can just about make out the dirt spots, every panel was covered and obviously never seen a clay bar in its life time.
Pretty good reflection just after snowfoam, shampoo, fallout remover and clay
Engine Bay degreased and dressed
Interior Leather cleaned and then conditioned, picture just taken after conditioned so still slightly shiny, once absorbed and buffed it returns to matte.
I left it at the until I have a full day to clean it with new products and don't have to spend hours using a clay bar! Pretty happy with the condition some minor swirl marks but nothing to drastic.
Products used:
AG Snowfoam
AG Bodywork Shampoo
AG Magma Ironout
AG Leather Cleaner
AG Leather Balm
AG Interior Shampoo
AG Rapid Detailer
AG Engine degreaser
AG Bumper Trim Gel
Meguiars Clay Bar
Meguiars Tyre Gel
I have numerous detailing products arriving to improve of the results hopefully finish the full car and get some wax on tomorrow. Will document every step
New private plates arrived just can't put them on yet as I don't have the new V5C document.
Few little touch ups in the pipeline looking forward to starting.
