Dashcam installer recommendations

Why is it over complicating the simple ?

Just because there are owners who can dismantle just about anything, doesn’t mean that everyone fancies / can have a go at doing it properly.

Modern cars have safety features that could be affected by a wire in the wrong place or trim put back incorrectly.

As for justifying earning a living wtf, in case you hadn’t noticed it’s what retro fitters do for a living and it wouldn’t be a living if they did it for free now would it.

Not least doing a self install and either firing a airbag, or blocking it's path, a safety and cost concern.
I will give many things a go, but at times let the pro's do what they do best and for a living, and more so if not exorbitant pricing, which Alix most certainly isn't

I didn’t find Alex expensive even when he came all the way to sunny Scotland to do the install.

Reminds me of the early years of car hi fi installation...
I know what you mean. I Remember my dad fitting a JVC 40w head unit in his MK1 Escort, I guess it was much easier back int good old days, less fuses, less intricate and expensive interiors, in fact im not sure the car had seat belts, nevermind airbags. I remember it had perforted vinyl head lining.
