I’ve had my 2016 252 TFSI B9 saloon for three years and it’s been completely trouble free in that time but it went in for a service a couple of weeks ago, oil change, new spark plugs and S tropic oil change. They found a coolant leak and quoted a £1,000 to fix (it was a main dealer)
I’ve checked today and there is definitely a leak and want to take it to a specialist rather than a main dealer.
Does anyone know a decent specialist on the Wirral, I’ve done a google and Unit 20 seems to get good reviews.

Can’t help you regards Indy, but this is a useful link regards possible coolant leak on 2.0TFSI. Dave Sterl is Very knowledgeable so may give you a pointer.

What coolant is used in Audi 2.0l engines is it G12 ? I wouldn't mind getting a top up bottle

Thanks for posting that link, I have spoken to Unit 20 and they have suggested the same.
The car is now booked in

Not a surprise that it is likely to be the thermostatic valve housing. Had mine replaced a couple of years ago but fortunately the cost was covered by Audi. Also had a leak from the A/C condenser repaired at the same time and now have oil leaking from the gearbox sump. 1 leak could be considered unlucky but 3...

I had mine done under extended warranty which I paid less than £500. Not many people like dealer warranty but in this days Audi warranty is the best out there for peace of mind.

Coolant leaks might not seem like a big deal, but it could create a hazardous situation for your car’s engine. Without the proper amount of antifreeze, your engine could overheat (or freeze in winter months). Because it plays such a critical role in how well your engine runs, coolant should be checked regularly. That’s especially true for older cars, which may not operate as efficiently as newer models. Hi i got told the same thing on my recent service , just checked my coolant and it has dropped slightly.
I‘ll be booking mine in at an independent garage , I believe the part is made by INA so will source one from Autodoc .
Hope you got it sorted.

Just an update on this, I took the car to Unit 20 today and they replaced the thermostat, bell housing and water pump. Total cost £771.
