GTB2260VK

So after much thought i decided the gtb1756 is not worth the extra 15-20bhp and have decided to go big.
Gtb2260vk is capable 300bhp with correct set up,im aiming for 250bhp.

Ive found a place that will supply some dssl injectors which will flow around the 300 mark.

The 2260 will be already mounted to manifold,so just a case of adapters, flanges and oil feed.

Yes an upgraded clutch is on the cards...

Anybody got anymore input that can help me out?

P.s in the new year my bv43 turbo and manifold will be for sale,if anyone is interested.

With a 2260 you will need at least a Sachs organic clutch, I would look to keep the peak torque values sensible when it's mapped.
If I was aiming for 250 bhp I would more than likely go with a GTB2056VK , More responsive and better to drive on a daily basis. The 2260 has the capacity to give you 300 bhp but on a 1.9 I don't think you end up with a very good daily driver.
You will need a 4 bar map sensor and have you uprated the cylinder head bolts to the PD150 spec.

Karl.

2260vk is too big of a turbo to spool right on a 1.9 Tdi ! I have a friend with a 2.0Tdi BRD and he damaged his gtb2060vklr because of high EGT and that's a ball bearing turbo with lightning fast response ! I would use a volvo gtb2056vl and leave it there, 250 Bhp is more than plenty and i would not believe all the hype you read- the engine will need strenghtening if you're aiming for 300 ! As mentioned above in Karl's post, a 300 Bhp 1.9Tdi would not be a nice daily, the engine does not flow enough to spool the large turbos and it will be laggy and thirsty ! As they are saying, there's no replacement for displacement...

To true jake, yep i hear it everytime too.
Good idea, but i cant part with the :kissmyrings: yet,so till then, mod on :)

I am going for gtb2056vk, think i should still do injectors upgrade? As stock injectors can manage 230bhp yet turbo can manage 250bhp,not much of a jump from to 230 but from my current setup 205bhp to 250bhp is.

May as well, from what I've read the head gasket will be troublesome at 250 (no idea if anything can be done about this?).
PD150 head bolts or ARP hardware will keep the head and engine in one piece...

United diesel have a good rep for injectors they know what they are doing. Prices look reasonable too.
They are a bit hit and miss ! I have a friend that done 2x sets of pd nozzles with very poor results- in the end they were calibrated by some specialist in austria... the gear to test and adjust pd nozzles is over 50k, not affordable at all considering the small market !

To be honest, there is NOBODY in Uk that can calibrate used pd injectors fitted with larger nozzles as there is no reference table to work with ! The only people that can do a good job on these are Drivebywire in States and the german specialist i just mentioned above ! Uk is like 10 years behind USA/europe tuning wise and there are many sharks looking to make a quick buck in the "trade"...
