brake lights coming on at night when car is parked a4 b6 avant

hello I recently posted a thread about the battery draining overnight it turns out it is the brake lights coming on overnight when the car is parked, has anyone else experienced the same and possible cause like relay or such and clues would be helpfull cheers from Colin

Hi I've just had all brakes light come on while parked up. Looking on the forum and the web it might be your brake switch?

I don't think there is a relay, just a switch on the pedal. Remove the lower dash panel, you should see the switch.

thanks for that will check actually it makes sense because when I touched the pedal the lights went off as you say it could be a faulty switch on the pedal itself cheers from Colin
