Best intercooler for 8V?

I installed the Wagner Tuning Evo 1 Intercooler on my PFL with APR Stage 1 about two weeks ago. Removing the bumper was the hardest part of the installation. I haven't had a chance to really run the RS3... too much traffic, but I trust it's doing it's job.
Hope to go to the track soon and see if my laps get quicker...
Will be great to hear how it goes on the track. Correct me if I'm wrong but fairly certain the Evo 1 for the PFL was a little underwhelming over stock IC? Think the Evo 1 was only 8,670 cm³ flow rate core vs. OEM 6,848cm³ flow rate? Wagner then revised the Evo 1 for the FL which jumps up to 13.070cm³ - I assume this is better?

Any feedback on the Wagner Evo1?

I personally ended up choosing a different FMIC mate. I purchased the STM FMIC - could not get any real life feedback regarding Wagner Evo 1. Good Luck

Good move. At least you give yourself more room for future mods. Won't have to change your IC when you go stage 2

Current - 2018 RS3 Sedan
Past - 2016 RS3 SB

Any new intercoolers out there for ROW cars? Still looking...
Motorsport one seems to only fit the PFL RS3.

Anyone have a Wagner Evo 1 for an RS3/TTRS lying around before I purchase one?

Slim chance I know.

Now that they have updated it, it seems like a good unit and no need to modify or replace crash bar.

@Aoon_M

I get in a few weeks my RS3 facelift.
I will go stage 2 +
So hoping 575 hp crank 720 nm.
With intake, intercooler, downpipe
Charge pipe, boost pipe, throttle body

Is the Wagner evo3 really that bad about boost pressure.

My tuner DVX belgium said, the APR have way Better flow.

Maybe after one year stage 2+
I will go upgrade for an TTE 700

What are you thinking

I was looking for the APR with the Forge crash bar

Did someone now

Not been on this forum for a very long time!

Please find a new tuner.

So any 7R intercooler will fit ???

Definitely not. MK7 R intercooler will NOT fit.

Don't know anyone who has used this intercooler to date! Stick to what works.

I don't recommend the Wagner Evo 3 at all. Cooling properties are excellent but pressure drop is bad and it is laggy. The turbo needs to work harder to make same boost.

The Forge intercooler is excellent. It is my go to intercooler recommendation for all of my customers.

However if it was my own car, I would fit an intercooler with a GARRET core.

Why Garret? They make turbochargers. Intercoolers are all about getting the right amount of cooling vs flow rate.

STM/IROZ both use garret cores. I have no experience with the APR intercooler, however I will vouch for their hardware in general - it is world class.
