Battery

Hi,
In the past 3 weeks my engine has cut out on me while driving which is very dangerous!
Luckily the 1st 2 times happened as I was about to turn into my drive but yesterday it happened when I was rounding a corner in 3rd gear
It seems to happen when I am braking hard in a low gear when preparing to stop.

The battery gauge is give a high reading which I guess means it is ok.
According to receipts the battery was last changed in 2003.

So what do you guys think?
New battery?

Well mine cut out a few times when i put the clutch in and the revs got too low. i just upped the idle speed with Vagcom which helped a bit then stopped using asda's quality fuel? and a couple of tanks worth of V-Power and its all better again. So my guess would be something to do with fueling instead of the battery problems. Now i don't know much about turbos as i am more of a cubic inches sort of guy over turbos but would a stalling turbo cause a problem like this? or do i not know what i am talking about

Macattax - Do you know anyone with VAG-COM that could check the car over for you? This would be your best option.
