AVS Longlife oil

My car is due a service very soon - it's on AVS plan and suddenly it's using quite a bit of oil - is this normal i.e. I'm guessing viscosity has got very low so it's using more and more.

Also how much of std. oil can you mix with Longlife oil? (I've already used 0.5 litres of Catrol GTD).

My Tdi has never used much SLX II Longlife- maybe 1-1.5 litres in the 21k miles it did on the last fill.

I think you're only supposed to add 0.5 litres of std oil.

I think SLX has been binned in favour of castrol edge.As thats what i put in last week.

I am still on longlife SLXii ..... about a 1 ltr bottle in between services - c20K

Yep £42.99 from halfords, just bought some today. The mobil one metions that it coves 503.01 but the viscosity is different. it was £5 cheaper too but i left it in favour of the edge

SLX has not been replaced, it's still available.

I just filled mine about a week ago with 1ltr Castrol Edge. Its on the longlife service thingy
