Are lambda sensors sided

I have a V6 and two post cat lambda sensors. I know the connector colours are black and brown for bank 1 and bank 2, but are the sensors themselves sided?

I have two new black connector lambda sensors, can I use a black one to replace the old brown one?

fwiw - i know that the pre cat sensors are the same fitting, only difference appears to be with the length of the cable tail (and brown/black plug). if you can't return the sensor for the correct one I'd say give it a try...you'll know inside of 50 miles if a fault is present. i changed both pre-cat sensors when one failed, couldn't be bothered to get all mucky for a second time; totally smoothed out the acceleration - no more jerkiness!
