as above guys really http://www.chipexpress.com/

thinking of using their box for my new 1.9TDIe when it arrives in 4 weeks or so...

interested about peoples views of the way the engine reacts to it...i.e drivability etc

Not had experience of the chipexpress, but my wife got G-Werks to remap her 1.9 TDi MKIV Golf http://www.g-werks.com/Services_tuning/1/Default.aspx

Looks like similar price to the box, but better gains? Also, it's programmed into the ECU, so no box floating about. Also, it's mapped to your car, not generic.

Her TDi now flys and in terms of drivability etc. is just as before.

Highly recommend them - they did all the work on my G60.

cheers for your input...i'm not convinced about doing a remap on a brand new car that's on a PCP plan so i'm trying to steer clear if i can...The idea of a chip is more reassuring for me so I can take it off as and when I need to...

A very good point. I was told that once the ECU is flashed, there is no way they can prove it. Obviously, they can tell by the performance, but they can't read the programme from the ECU, only overwrite it again; so they can't get actual proof.

But, it's down to your own feelings on that - I'm waiting until the warrenty runs out on mine (but I only have to wait a year for that).
