So I'm on holiday in the lakes and going over kirkstone pass I hit a big hole or a rock and managed to damage both passenger side wheels. Front one is pretty bad.
Has anyone had wheels repaired when the damage is this deep?

I am obviously steaming with anger and peed offness

Tell me about it. Felt sick when I pulled over to take a look and then looked at the rear wheel to find that one also damaged. Didn't even think the rear wheel hit it.

That is easily repairable to the point where you will not see it. There are plenty of repairers around that can fix it. Some will come to your house.
The tyre may be more of a problem and might well be illegal (just a guess), so if I were you, I would get it looked at pronto.

Blimey, that is a chunk. Tyre looks fine so should be okay.

Gutted for you. I can imagine the feeling when you saw the damage, but hopefully repairable.

I’m sure I’ve heard of people claiming compensation from councils for pothole damage.

Mate, honestly i pulled over at the bottom of the road and my wife just knew from my face that it wasn't good.
I got back in the car and no body spoke the whole way back to the cottage. then the pressure sensor went off just as we good back so obviously air had escaped when i hit the hole, so i had to drive the garage to check them, grrrrr
I might look into claiming but i didn't get any pictures of the pot hole so cant see it being possible.
I'm going back to alloy wheel powder coaters to get a quote for repair on Friday. fingers crossed

I'm now in the process of filling out a claim form through Cumbria county council for the cost of repairing the damaged wheels (if they are in fact repairable). Let's see what comes of it

It's booked in for Monday to get them put right, £180 which I think is ok.
They are also going to powder coat my wheel spacers to match the wheels for free which is a bonus I suppose lol
Now just cross my fingers that Cumbria county council cover the costs.

Don’t think powder coating spacers is a good idea, about 95% of their area should be a machined face so they sit flat on the hub face and snug in it. PC might cause you issues fitting them and prevent the wheel from sitting flat, it’s also a nightmare to remove if you have too.
