Hello everyone, as you can see by the title I am curious in changing my A3 FWD into a Quattro.

I have read in lots of places online that lots of parts are needed. I have a plan though, and that is to get a cheap ish A3 with Quattro already, but it would be a manual transmission, and just use that and salvage all of the parts off of it and then transfer it onto my A3 which is DSG, is this possible ? Would Garages even attempt this ?
Should I even attempt it ? Is a Manual Quattro Different to an DSG FWD ?
Thanks.

The people to ask are AKS in Bedford. To go 4wd and change the type of gearbox will be costly.
Far better and cheaper in the long run would be to buy an S3. Stronger engine than the standard 2.0L TFSI and so will stand more aggressive tuning too in the future.

The rear floor will need fabrication as the Quattro has a rear diff, which makes the boot floor higher by about 4 ".
Your DSG box will need an output shaft to turn the prop shaft.

Cost wise it's a non-go but if you have the time to diy then give it go.
