New shape or old shape from reg number?

Long story but is there any way you can tell from the reg number if an A4 is new or previous shape?! It's an 08 but am fairly sure it could be either.

Not from the reg I wouldn't think. Your best bet is to ring another dealer and ask

Thanks, I did think that would be the case. Am not being suspect, I've been offered it instead of my A3 (company car) for a while but I can't get the fleet guy to find out what it actually is and the guy who did have it has left the company and I am being pushed into a decision if I want it or not!

I think you could tell if you had ETKA as that is what the dealers use. If you want to PM me the reg number I could look it up for you later today

You really need the vin number.

Reg will tell you the vin, but you need an online system to the DVLA or Audis central computer to do the lookups.

Have finally got the answer from the horse's mouth! It is one of the first new shape SE's and will do me for a year until I can choose a new one
