can anyone help i have a 1995 1.9tdi a4 which when accelerating from low revs up to 3000 before turbo kicks in keeps pulsing up and down very slightly i thought perhaps air mass sensor ?

yeah it's probably the MAF sensor. I had this problem and after I swapped it out the performance came rightback.
Don't be fooled by audi garages about the price of a replacement. 90% of the time you only need the sensor probe not the full kit. I bought mine from German and Swedish for £69 and it works a treat.
