Rattle noise from gearbox??

can anyone give me some advise? iam getting a rattle/chattering noise from in the gearbox when i press the clutch in it stops but the noise tends to roll on slightly then stops.

when i drive off in 1st gear it gets to a rather irratating lever of noise, when i change into 2nd gear it stops.

if i start off in second gear it dosent make the noise. has anyone else ever had this problem or may know what i need to do.
