****** misfire

pretty sure you dont need vagcom to reset tb, ill try and find the 'how to' its on uk mk4's somewhere

I disconected the battery before doing anything, I cleaned the tb the way it shows on uk mk4's then re-assembled, reconected the battery then turned the key in the ignition (without starting the engine) and let it sort itself out for a couple of minutes,
Thats all I done mate and it runs sweet as a nut. There was nothing wrong with my car to start with though I was just bored and thought I'd give it a go.

Cheers Matt

fitted the new maf and cleaned the throttle body,as far as i can tell it may have cured the fault,i cleared the codes and went for a 10 mile test,no fault codes logged when i got back, will have to see if it happens again

MAF sensors are a pain, I had 2 brand new sensors that gave erratic running, stalling, not reving by 4k etc..etc..before sorting it out with a 3rd new sensor.....
