cheers for that,so you dont need to re-align it just unbolt it without disconecting the eletric part of it and hold down the throttle pedal,this means you can get at both sides without distrubing the throttle flap setting
I disconected the battery before doing anything, I cleaned the tb the way it shows on uk mk4's then re-assembled, reconected the battery then turned the key in the ignition (without starting the engine) and let it sort itself out for a couple of minutes,
Thats all I done mate and it runs sweet as a nut. There was nothing wrong with my car to start with though I was just bored and thought I'd give it a go.
fitted the new maf and cleaned the throttle body,as far as i can tell it may have cured the fault,i cleared the codes and went for a 10 mile test,no fault codes logged when i got back,will have to see if it happens again
MAF sensors are a pain, I had 2 brand new sensors that gave erratic running, stalling, not reving by 4k etc..etc..before sorting it out with a 3rd new sensor.....
