40 MPG - Help

My fuel economy has gone nuts - after resetting it about a 1000 miles ago because I could not believe the reading It is still showing 40MPG ( mixture of town and motorway)
( 80000 S3 - standard engine)

Always averageed 29-32

Checked the mileage being covered on a full tank and I am now getting 380-400 per tank where as before I was lucky to get 320-330

I noticed today the warning indicator on the speedometer is showing the 'engine image'

Car is running fantastic - great fuel economy - light on the dash

Does this sound as though my CAT has failed ?

Any thoughts

that will be probably in yellow at the moment and if left might progress to red and then flashing red....get it to a garage if I were you.

If you have access to VAG-COM find out what fault codes you have, it could be the ECU, or a sensor playing up
