I took my car to an audi specialist for a full service, cam belt change, water pump, drive belt etc... Well at the end of the second full day he phoned me and said theres a problem with my car!!!! He said he put it all back together started her up and she was'nt running right so he's had to strip it all back down because the tensioner wheel was out of sync. Should i be concerned and could he have caused any possible engine damage by starting her up and the cambelt not going correctly. Your help would be appreciated as i have to go to the garage tomorrow morning and ask him what the **** is going on. Thanks.

Doubt it. If he's a decent mechanic, he should have a timing belt tool that locks it in place.

He's already changed the belts etc and put the car back together then said it's not running right. So if he's replaced the belt wrong or whatever he's done is there a possibility it could of damaged the engine on start up?

valves and pistons might have had a close encounter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I know it's only guess work until i've seen him tomorrow but any ideas as to what he might have done bearing in mind he had the car from thursday morning at 9.00am and did'nt ring me until friday at 7.00pm to then tell me there's a problem! I'm fuming aaaarrrrggghhh!!!

Is there a test or something they can do on the engine to if theres anything gone wrong? Then i can ask them to do one.

Vacuum test. Oil pressure test. Valve timing.

Thanks for your help.
