Hi all...

Now summer has arrived......tried the air con........the smell of 4 day old damp washing has returned.....

Last year Audi Main Dealer "deodorised" the vents etc, but even then it made virtually sod all difference......

Anyone out there got any way of cleaning up their B6 A4's air con system that actually works ?

Cheers

Yes, not turning it off. The system is designed to be used all year round, otherwise bacteria builds up and O rings dry out & crack.

I've had this problem. Deoderising is a quick fix, it comes back pretty quickly. It was eventually sorted using Wyms Ultrasonic by the dealer (Approx £10) :icon_thumright:

I had a similar problem, my a/c just started smelling real bad everytime i started the car up although i leave the a/c on all the time... What i did was remove the pollen filter as that can store some of the smell too.. Then i used two cans of the Forte A/C cleaner left the car running for 15mins and put in a new pollen filter..

Problem solved smell never came back, been about a year now...

You can buy the Forte a/c cleaner off ebay for about £7 a can..

Its under the bonnet within the Plenum Chamber on the N/S of the car.. Here are some instructions..

Step One

Step Two

I would also go for the activated charcoal filter, this kills any bad odours that may develop too. The standard filter is just a paper one.. I got mine from Eurocarparts, think it was about £17
