Hi All
Just used tesco compare and got a quote back from Admiral for £286 with no claims covered for life all singing all dancing etc I have 9 years ncb and no points.
Have been with Direct line for 4 years paid £460 last year!!
Question is are admiral recommended?? they offer a lot but so do direct line! Not had my renewal price from direct line yet but i can't see them beating that. I will make the change as long as admiral are a reputable company any response appreciated!!!............

I'm with Admiral multi-car at the mo. I've also had a claim with Elephant (who are a sister company). TBH all the big firms are much of a muchness. They all promise you the earth to get your premium and then are awkward as anything if you have to claim!

Fair point, but i take it they are fairly OK then as your with them??
not heard any horror stories then?. most points I've heard on direct line are pretty good!

Been with them for Yrs on the multi-car policy and jcs says they are probably as good as a lot of the companies that are big and compete on price not top quality.
Not sure what they are like for any mods other than wheels and suspension....I am guessing I'll have to ge to a specialist when I get the car mapped...

i've been with admiral 2 years and had 2 non fault claims, always very good

They are pretty good with mods - their online quote system is the same as Elephants - i.e. you can get a quote on a base car, then tick various options and see how the price changes. Only thing to remember is that they only ever insure the base car. They will only ever put the car back to standard rather than replace your mods on a like for like basis.

TBH I can't really complain - I'm paying less than £250 for the Ibiza and under £400 for the S3 both with all their mods declared.

I have been with them for about 10 years, they always price match every year so are always cheap(ish). I found that multi car worked out more expensive than having 2 individual policies (RRS and S3).
When i had an Impreza STI(2003) my premium only went up about £20 with a full de cat exhaust but they wanted an extra £100 for a strut brace! Not sure about a remap though.
