Hi folks.
so last month I travelled to London to collect a A4 Avant 2ltr tfsi petrol.
I travelled over 300 miles with the car from Heathrow to Annandale Services in Scotland.
Parked the car up, left it for 20 minutes. When I came out it started fine. Managed a couple hundred yards and car shuddered and cut out. Restarted got a few feet and cut out again. Started again and got white vapour from the back. So turned it off immediately.

AA sent a local garage out, they plugged computer in and said it was the fuel Pressure Regulator.
Spoke to one of the Audi specialists up here and they thought more likely to be fuel pump.

Sent the car to my usual guy. They also thought fuel pump, cleared all the fault codes and car started up and ran fine. But next day when they started the car to move it out into the yard. It started to misfire, so they aren’t sure about it being the fuel pump anymore.

any thoughts folks?
Cheers

It depends i'm not sure if your car has it as they did make changes as it is a weak point to the fuel system... but 2.0tfsi usually have it, but if it was a b7 i would say deffo the camfollower and it is on top and easily swapped out for an upgraded (read extra hardened so it should last longer) it is a maintenance item so ha to be replaced at set intervals... check this video to see how simple it is to do
