What fails inside the instrument cluster?

I like a few people here have the dim always on steering wheel light of death.

A few companies here in the uk offer to repair it while you wait, with a time of about 40mins to an hour to fix.

I have smd rework experience.

So does anybody know what component fails?

Never heard of this issue. What exactly is the problem. I like one other on the forum have replaced all the red leds on cluster hvac wheel doors ect.

The amber steering wheel warning led is on very dimly all the time even if the key isn't in the ignition.
