Steering Wheel Adjustment

My A3 8Y steering wheel only allows up and down adjustment. It doesn't go forward and back. Is it possible that some models are missing this function? Or perhaps is there a problem with my car?

The thing is, since I have short arms, I want to pull the steering wheel closer to myself, but I can't do it, and I don't want to force it too much. What do you think I should do?

They all have full adjustment, could it just be stiff?
Try yanking it, I’ve noticed mine needs some encouragement from time to time

I didn't yank it yet because I am afraid to damage the steering wheel somehow.

My regular steering wheel (round one Sport trimmed, not flat bottomed or the super wow one) easilly moves up/down, forward inwards after releasing the catch. UK speced car. Maybe you need to push it in before you can push it outwards?
