Spare wheel cover missing something?

This has probably been asked a thousand times, and if it has, I apologies.

Is there something missing from my 2015 a6 avant spare wheel cover?

It appears to be shaped to hold something, but I don't know what?

Yes mate, so below the luggage strap holder storage, should something be stored in that area as it looks like it is shaped for something.
