We had this Audi TT to do a stage 3 detail on today (yep me working on a weekend:doublesho ) Its quite local to us any ways you will see from the pics the amount of swirls and scratches that where present and altho i could not achieve 100% correction safely we did reach around 85-90% and made a massive improvement on the over all appearance and getting the mettalic flake to come through and pop, this was the main thing the client wanted, the pearlesant to show through as the paint looked like a solid colour due to the swirling, So here it is before:

The next stage is to clean the wheels, we used Safe wheel gel for the fronts and inner rims then scrubbed the insides with a EZ detail wheel brush and the front with a cobra MF scrubber and a swissol wheel brush for the bolts etc, arches treated with a Citrus degreaser jet washed retreated with the CD then scrubbed with a arch brush :

Wash stage was the next step, the lower section of the car was treated with a citrus TFR and then the whole car was coated with a foam blanket of suds using a foam lance, maxi suds and snow foam, rinsed refoamed then washed TBM with Chem guys cirtus wash, rinsed, clayed using sonus green and megs last touch as lube, washed again, rinsed one last time then dried using Sonus der wonder towels :

Now we are on to the important part, Paint correction and this is a tough paint and very swirled, so i test my way trough my usual pad and polishes checking the paint depth regularly to asses what is going on, Once i get to the menz IP 3.02 and a megs polishing pad we are doing good but on the bonnet and boot it was not quite enough, there where some very deep swirls, so i did some more testing of polishes and compounds too now, i had to step right up to the 3M fast cut compound and a cutting pad i nearly thought i was going to have to bust a wool pad out at one point, so it was the 3M fast cut compound followed by the menz IP 3.02 then the menz FF then the 3M machine polish On a 3M blue pad :buffer: :buffer: :buffer: :buffer: :doublesho It was the only thing to do to get the correct amount of defect removal so it was done:

While all that was going on Jay did loads of bits and bobs like wheels with the swissol CF then the swissol autobhan wax, Tail pipe trims with the autosol, Detailed the engine bay with the Megs Last touch, tyres with the CG new look gel, detailed the interior with the extraction machine G101 and glipton leather conditioner, windows in/out with HD cleanse:

Well it was dam hot down here today and we where absolutely knackered so we pulled it in out of the sun, and followed round with the swissol cleaner fluid to prepare the paint for the wax and aid the bonding of the wax then we applied the swissol Best of Show wax by hand to all the painted surfaces inc door and boot shuts engine bay paint work etc, buffed off left to stand then a final wipe down with sonus carnuba spritz. now this makes all that worth the effort :

Well i know it looks perfect but i could still see some very slight Holograms on the bonet if you cought the light right so im going to go back and redo that tommorow, only thing is its been resprayed and looks to be beneath the clear coat but i have a little trick up my sleeve to deal with it i just wish i thought of it when i was there rather than when i got home
Any way as always GOOD or BAD all comments & questions are welcome
