Trailer Preparation?

Hi,

I’ve just bought a 2013 (63 plate) Audi A4 avant black edition and have fitted a towbar. I got the Audi dedicated electrics but I’m struggling to find the red plug on my harness that the instructions suggest. I’ve checked the driver side rear quarter but no luck.

many ideas?

No not had any response so far and rang Audi about the issue and they are certain it has trailer prep but can’t find the plug so I just scotch blocked the cables. I am now getting and ESC fault so will have to get it coded I think

I also did the same and tee'd into the canbus lines going to the connivance module in the boot.

I believe you will have to code to remove the error as one of the modules I coded was the braking one.

For reference this is what I did:

[01 - Engine] Already Present
Byte 4, Bits 0-3 Changed from 0011 to 0100

[01 - Engine]
Byte 5, Bit 4 Changed from 0 to 1
(via check box "Trailer Installed" in VCDS)

[03 - ABS Brakes]
Byte 1, Bit 7 Changed from 0 to 1
(via check box "Trailer Hitch Installed" in VCDS)

[09 - Central Elec]
Byte 18, Bit 5 Changed from 0 to 1
(via check box "Trailer Hitch Installed" in VCDS)

[5F - Information Elec]
Byte 10, Bit 5 Changed from 0 to 1

B8.5 Avant Towbar Towing Prep - where's the plug??

Hi all, Looking to get a tow bar for my A4 facelift B8 avant. Will like to install myself ideally. The car is listed as "towing prepared" in the MyAudi app. I thought this meant that there was a plug in the boot for the module to plug into. I can't find the plug! I have had the whole right...
