Glow Plug light on a long time, the 1000+ rpm tick over eek Help Pls !

Hello !


I have just been out to move my car and when i went to start it the glow plug light seemed to stay on for a long time, i started the car as soon as the the light went off and the engine started to tick over just over 1000 rpm, there was also a puff of white smoke out of the exhaust, i have looked over the forum but i cannot see any one else with this problem,


any thoughts please ??

There is a post in this forum called '00 2.5tdi clouds of white smoke!!! you may find the problem is the crankcase breather filter.

thnaks for that, i have done that filter 3 times now the last time not 4 months ago, i hope its not blocked again ! starting to thin i might have the A6 from Hell..........
