A3 pfl 2014 keyfob battery, how and which?

Hey

Does anyone know if I can just open the fob up and put a new battery in, or is it more involved, if so how?
Also what battery do I need?

I've only done my focus and it was a case of removing and replacing, simple as that.

PS had a warning on my dash about it.

Easy peasy job. Flip off the side cover and replace 2032 battery.

Ah glad it's as simple as that.
Some you have to do with 10 seconds or else, or you need to push some buttons when you put the new battery back in.

According to the manual it’s possible you may lose synchronisation after changing the battery. If the remote won’t work, press unlock, unlock the door with the key within 30 seconds, then press unlock or lock and all should be ok again.

Just got the battery from Amazon.
Changed it over really quick and had no issues.
Went out in the -5 temp and started the car and no warning.
Everything works great.
