Hello,

S3 15 plate, been working fine (well decent enough for me) for 2 years since I bought it. However for some reason I've lost the ability to control songs via Bluetooth on Spotify, just getting the external audio player connected message and all I can change is volume and on/off. Not sure why it has suddenly dropped connectivity like this. Has done it in the past but turning Bluetooth off/on has re-enabled it. However this time can't seem to get it back working.

Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated?
So far I've tried:
Reset mmi by 3 button combo
Reset mmi to factory
Disconnected phone via mmi and reconnected
Disconnected and reconnected on phone
Reinstalled Spotify and cleared storage and cache.

Phone is pixel 3xl.

Thanks for any help.

Is your Spotify app the latest version ? If it needs an update it could be messing around with things

My first thoughts as well, did something similar a while back with my iPhone.

If your MMI hasn’t changed or been updated then it’s most likely a phone firmware/software update that’s caused it. Most likely Spotify updated the app. Had similar problems in my a6 after an app update.

Thats what I'm thinking, had a Spotify update on 8/12 and a phone update about a week ago so could be either.
