Window drop won’t go up

I took the door card off previously Iv been having trouble with the wiring in the door look bending and a silly connection that meant the drivers side door switches would work at all now I just give it a wiggle now and then and it sorts it’s self out.

Yesterday the window dropped and now wouldn’t go up I I press up or down makes a horrible noise from the motor so I fished around with my hand behind the panel and found this metal string bit it’s obviously meant to be connect to something is there a way of getting behind the panel to see where it’s meant to go.

Btw i poked it through the whole so I wouldn’t lose it it was just flopping around in the back panel



Any help would be great winters coming and it’s a bitch when it rains lol

That's snapped - You'll need to replace it.

Which funnily enough happened to mine about a month ago.
It's a fairly easy job which took me a couple of hours.
