Can I fit any 6sp man. gear knob and gaitor?

I am wondering if I can fit any gaitor and knob to my 2014 A3 ?

I am not sure the shape of the gaitor may be correct, but maybe I can use the old frame and use the new leather gaitor to mount it on, not sure if it will be too much trouble.

If it is, can I use any 6sp gear knob, are they all built the same?

Are they hard to fit?

Just doing some minor upgrades to make my black interior pop a little with colour and real leather or suede.

They were 85.00 at Audi at one point, but they no longer sell them, and if they do they want £300.00 which is a no go for me.

With all those modifications you are planing will not have been better to get an Sline model and have everything standard ?

Not really, got an excellent condition 2014 2.0 sport for £5000.00 with 3 months warranty and full service.
The sline wanted over £7000.00 last year, so I saved a ton.

I am just doing little bits to liven it up a little, nothing major.

I have found a nice genuine leather gaiter but it does not inlcude the plastic housing at the bottom.
I know the whole thing clips in, but how do I put the new one onto the old plastic housing?

Do they just clip on, or are they glued?

Looking to buy it tomorrow, also need O clip pliers as well to seal the clip for the new gear knob.
