Hi all,

As the post states, I’ve sligttly overfilled my engine oil during a routine top up just now. ****** off!

Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks.

Sam.

Use the drain plug to remove some. There are videos on youtube. Simples.

Undertray off then locate the Hex sump plug bolt.
Undo it and the oil will come out but it’ll be messy draining a little off.

Cheers for the reply. Definitely needs doing though an there’s no other way really is there?

Not unless you buy a oil extractor that can go into the dipstick tube......

I'd usually replace the sump nut and washer whenever taking it out, even to drain a little, as they are single use IIRC

Just had a second opinion from a mate of mine who is a mechanic and he said it’s nothing to worry about. It’s still on the dipstick where max is, just slightly above on the plastic bit before the metal shaft. He did a short dip after taking it out and putting it back in quickly and it was between the lines.

When it’s placed back in the tube and taken out after a few seconds it’s literally bang on the max mark.
