Rear seat side bolsters

I've just bought a set of half leather rear seats from a German eBay seller, they seem to be being delivered one piece at a time. I had the seat base on Tuesday and today arrived the bolsters, with integral airbags.
Is this common, I've never come across them before?

Rear side bolsters airbags were an option , they are fitted to mine.
Unless you want to use the air bags then just fit them as if they were normal bolsters.

I think they'll just be normal bolsters. I have no wiring to connect them up to.

Maybe just remove the air bag components then fit them as normal items.

Yes that'll be the case.
I've said before, for an ex-Lincoln Audi demonstrator my car is poorly equipped, I thought it would be loaded with gizmos. And being an '08 plate and near the introduction of the B8 model I'm not entirely sure what needed demonstrating.

Maybe that's the reason, it was the end of the B7 line so they left it basic to make the B8 look so much better..lol

Everything is optional with vag, including doors.

Your airbag controller needs to support the airbags too incase you have issues.

You're probably right Rob, in my opinion the B8 needs all the help it can get to look good.
