Anyone know why my brakes squeak so badly? The fronts are new and the rears seem to have loads left but they squeak really badly all the time?!

What pads are on there?

Mutliple reasons, they may not have been greased when being changed, which causes squeal, or a hard pad compound thats cold will often make a squeak against a hard disc.

They may need greasing? Any way to check whilst they are on the car?

I didn't put them on...

Don't know about the pads, all I know is they are very very dusty ones!!

Some of the Audi pads ain't what they should be. They have some with a very squeaky compound. Or they might just need chamferring. (is that how you spell that???).

I had my local stealers replace the pads all round, but it ended up sounding like an old bus. Replaced them all with Pagid pads (freebie from Star) and the sqeeks were no more.

Best get it on the ramps and see what brakes they are then...

It is a right pain in the behind...especially on the downhill queue for Stoner park, squeaking all the way for an hour!!
