Hi all,

Quick question

I can recharge my A3 I have read?

1. Can I get a cheaper bottle from the USA using ground shipping (due to gases allowed in planes)
2. Where do i plug the bottle into?

Thanks

Its not really as easy as that, the old gas has to be sucked out, then the new gas forced in - it wont cost much for a garage to do it for u, u'd be better off just paying

It IS as easy as that.

Unless you have seriously bad aircon theres no need to go changing the gases, in 99% of cases the refill bottles will do.

And personally, for £29 from your local motor factors, why import from the USA?

its all on offer at halfrauds this weekend, cleaner, recharge cylinders etc for £30 I think, or £40 fited by your local halfrauds trained tech/burger flipper.

Buy a can, plug into the pipe at front of engine bay, press button on can.

Wait 20 seconds for it to recharge.

Done

It shows you on the can, if theres a pic of an engine bay somewhere its easy to point out.

Basically front left, near the Aircon pump and unit.

If you buy a can or aircon gas at Halfrauds, make sure you pick up a can of Comma aircon cleaner, as it's free, total cost is around £40. I did mine over the weekend and it's definitely cooler than before, the can was good for both my Passat and S3, so £20 each, I'm happy :)
