Stevens machine

Tbh i think modern diesels hardly smoke when mapped unless you get a larger turbo ect, even then if its tuned properly you don't see as much as you would think.

My previous car was a 3.0 v6 turbo diesel Mercedes i had a conservative map with 270hp 600nm and it never had black smoke under acceleration the exhaust tips got a bit of soot on them but id say thats more than normal, being a common rail helped aswell though (im not sure if your engine is a common rail).

Also a few mates of mine have had mapped 125d’s with no smoke, a mapped 350hp 535d with enough torque to pull king kong around with also with no smoke and an 18 plate 335d pushing 400hp also no smoke.

On the flip side half the 90’s diesel **** boxes smoke like mad but thats old tech now I'm sure your cars past era.

Just map it mate diesels see the best results you wont get anywhere near 200hp without drastic changes so a map should get you closer to the 140 ish mark i would of thought but the torque improvement will be worth its weight in gold.

You'll be fine to remap , what's your VIN sticker manufacturers smoke coefficient value ?

0.80

All over the shop these figures , some early 2000's 1.9 are 0.60 , when a 2008/9 can be 1.00 !!

Worse are Fords even upto late 2009 a 1.8 tdci can be 1.75 , watch them smoke as the turbo spools .

No. Doing overtime at work. Got Wednesday off

So today was the day! Lots of pics.

I removed the FRONT bumper to fit a honeycomb grill and LCR splitter I had laying around in the garage. It's old and damaged but now it's on. I could buy a new one to fit in its place.

I changed my rear lamp as one was off colour and kinda pink looking. No pics of the before or after.

Whilst I was at the rear of the vehicle, I decided to debadge....

Grille looks nice and a good fit , but that splitter needs to come off chap, it looks horrible like that.
Nothing wrong with a LCR as lots inc myself have one fitted but it would have been better to trim down the central supports so the splitter is level rather than that bulge, looks like a manta ray swimming along with its mouth open.
Just my input chap really and everyones different but that splitter is not doing the car any favours at all, it detracts from the nice grill fitment.
Anyway, good work just a shame about the splitter , but hey just my opinion and what ever works for you really.

I see your day off wasn't really a day off lol, when are the wheels due back? Ring them and change the colour to matte black to match your grille! Lol should be cheaper bill as well, cant beat matte and gloss black together imo! MEANNN

I like the open 'basking shark' look Rob. Makes the front look deeper and the car in need of more air because power.....

Yeah, I'll have to shave them centre posts down lol

The wheel refurb guy said I should go Matt black too.
Don't you think black on black is to much black?

As I'm going to be losing the chrome around the windows too

Many people here will disagree but personally i think matte black with gloss black is awesome, black windows as well with black interior is the winning ticket for me, but its all down to you but yes if it was me id go matte black your grille and trims will tie in a lot better imo

It's too much. This is the same wheels as I'm fitting

black on red is great , black on blue is fine , black on grey is doable and black on white work is glossy , but black on black just seems to get lost .
I love black allys and have tried them on my old bus but it didn't work for me, I still keep drifting towards it but just end up going back to silver or black chrome.
Black chrome worked really well on my last but one set of alloys.

Not keen on black chrome its a bit pimp my ride but they look awesome Rob

At my age Ricky I need as much pimp my ride as I can get..lol

Really tempted to go back to a gloss black grille surround again, went off it for some reason and preferred the satin silver but seeing it in those pics kinda makes me want to go back to black.

Try wrapping it Rob.
I've done mine a few times but wasn't happy with my attempts.
Settled on plastidip matt black, matches the roof rails.

Black car so other shades might look better etc..

I like both looks i couldn't decide either i flipping hate the chrome but the satin silver looks very classy and sophisticated and the gloss black is more aggressive and street i really think the grille should tie in with the wheels and you having silver wheels Rob id stick with thr satin silver.

Wheels will be ready Friday but I'm working all weekend

yes but that means more Wonga to spend on the car now.

Should've said, I've got about 20 metres of satin black wrap.
If anyone wants any let me know the length and it'll cost for the delivery / tube etc.
It's 1.5 metres wide.

I'll have it to cover my Chrome window surrounds

No probs, have a measure up and see how much you need. I'd have a guess at 6 metres?
What I'll do, because I'm proper busy till the weekend, I'll leave it open.
First come n all that.
I'd rather a few have what they want/need.
If no one else is interested, you can have it all (but 6 metres minimum is yours).
