Gearbox malfunction!!!

So after driving for an hour or so I parked up for about 45 mins then went to start the car which started then cut out and when I started again I got 'gearbox malfunction, can continue normal driving'
Switched car off and back on and it's gone.

Scanned for codes and get transmission code 02543. That's a carista code

Help please if you know what this might be

Car is in with Audi today for service and gearbox diagnosis. They say they need en extra hour to run tests on the box.
£60 first 30mins. £109 for the next hour.
Said fault codes point to clutches.
Does this sound very very bad and expensive????

Has anyone had mayor problems with the box in the bitdi's???

It does sound like it’ll be a new box mate I’m afraid although I’m no expert

Could be way of base with this one, but I thought the BiTDi used the ZF 8HP (8 speed) box if so then if would have a torque converter not clutches like on the stronic boxes.
