Gear Shifter Cover Mechanism Switch?

I droppped my RS3 Saloon off at my nearest Audi dealer on 16th of January to go through the issues with the car under warranty.

The main issue being the sunroof rattling... After 6 weeks I still don’t have it back.

The reason is because actually today the car was put back and they took it for a test drive.
I actually heard it going past me (sounded so good) and then realised its my car which was fun.

Anyway they can’t get the gear shifter cover back on as the spring on the button isn’t staying put. I can only guess it was damaged when it was removed (although not clear why they removed it in the first place).

I have been told that part is on a 7 day back order so this time next week I should get the car back but it is very frustrating. It is now back together but I can’t drive it with just a metal pole where the shifter is....

I have been driving around a new A1 and its very nice inside and out...

The new 10inch touchscreen is massive and high res and super responsive and looks fantastic. Not to mention the cool ambient lighting.

The whole design is very high quality. Sizewise this feels like an A3 sportback. It doesn’t feel any smaller unlike the previous A1. The seating position feels like my car as does the space. I think its fair to assume the new A3 will also be bigger as a result.

Just looking at dimensions not much in it:
A1: 1740 wide, 4029 long
A3: 1785 wide, 4313 long
(All mm).

Like the look of the A1 myself. Took one out a few weeks ago (3 cyl) and it drove really nice too. Tad under powered vs what I'm used to though
