Seen them on eBay, full bt & multimedia without nav from Golf 5/6 platform, way cheaper than rns-e so I wonder if they would work in the 8p? Anyone know, or anyone tried?

Different shape, different mounting points.

If you’re after BT and/or Nav have a look at the Android powered units (Xtrons) - plenty of info here.

Cheers mate, I have BT built in but the iPod dock is no use to me as I want to stream from Google play and Amazon music. My Concert 2 doesn't do audio over BT as you probably know already. I found out today that the 6cd is not built in, so must be the changer model hence I've ordered the Ami usb interface to replace the iPod dock in the hope that will work and the existing Bose / Concert will be perfect for me
