dsg gearbox repair or recondition

i have a problem with my Q5 dsg gearbox with it thumping when i come to a stop does anyone know a good place to have a look at it and to see if it does need a new mech or clutch pack

Audi say it needs a new mech and clutch pack at 5k cost... if thats the cast then the car is getting traded in but i want to know 100% if that is the case as if its just the mech then that will be far better then having to folk out 5k

is there a recondition options i can look at in the Essex area

after speaking to a few audi tech guys they have all said the same thing it will need to be a new mech and clutch pack at about 3k - 3.5k indie price

i think it might be a case of the car has to go and put the 3.5k towards another car which is a shame

The folk up the road from us had their Q5 box replaced at Audi.. 8k+!! Sickening cost.
