Steering wheel height/reach adjustment broken.

Hi,
I have a new to me 2007 A3 Sportback 2.0TDi 170. My 1st Audi and loving it so far.
I'd like some input on the following issue:
The steering wheel height and reach seems jammed, the lever under the steering column releases but the steering wheel will not move. I've tried it with key on and out, still no movement.
Anything obvious I should be looking for?

Probably needs a bit of force mate as I've known some that aren't used to stick, not much goes wrong with that part tbh, so give it some Welly.

I put the boot in and it’s shifted now. Much stiffer than I expected.
