Hi guys

Running the eibach pro springs so -30mm from SE height.

Should I run 255 Vs the stock 265 30 20?

I note the A5 and B8 with factory 20'a run 265/30/20 but with a slight drop I worry about scrubbing. As they arnt cheapo tyres I dont wanna screw up.

Anyone help?

Mark.

I went with 245/30/20 on my 9x20’s as I didn’t want any rubbing.

actually just found your lowering thread. what et are they and I take it 9J Q alloys?

Wont be going as low as that mind. as I say I have the eibach pro kit.

Et40 front & Et35 rear lowered 50mm lower than standard S line.

Here’s a pic from before it was lowered I was running Falken tyres then. I’ve now switched to Continental’s

Looks good. I might go with the 255 as at the minute I'm running the upgrade OEM 18's with 245/40/18 Michelin PS3. Plus these wheels which are ET35 have been spaced out h&R 20mm rear and 15mm front to get it flush to the arch. I don't want the 9J 20's to sink in the arch do will prob run a 10mm H&R rear and 5 or 6 front.

Hopefully get this colour combo look....

I don’t think you’ll need to run spacers as on my Avant with Et40 front & Et35 rear the wheels are pretty flush. Also if you run 255 I would think you’ll probably get some rubbing.

On will they fit they seemed to say that my existing ET35 wheels with the 20 and 15mm R to Front with spacers will sit a good bit further into the arch (these are etc 37 front and 38 rear)

I was hoping that they would not need spacing as I hate the things!

On my original whelks which were 8x18 et47 I had 15mm rear spacers & 12mm front & they was flush with the arch. Your new wheels are an inch wider which changes things with offsets.

I’m running 9J ET35 with 245/30/20 and I’m finding the tyres looks pretty stretched and thin. And the ride is compromised a lot.

Going to change up to 255’s this week and see if it’s any better.

Wheels are defo not in the arches sit flush front and rear

Awesome. Yes I agree; at that ride hight mine wont be far off; I think 255 will be much better. The factory RS4 uses the 265 but Im hoping 255 works out as the 245 are far too stretched and thin for my ride height.

Let me know how that goes. I think I will be running 255's unless your on coilers I think 255 (dependants on Et will be ok) yes. I agree. Wont be needing spacers with ET 37

Thanks

Charlie did you get any tyres on?

Sorry mate,

Yes new tyres are on, only bought budgets just to see if it made a difference and it sure did. The drive is 100x’s smoother the handling is a lot easier and it’s just unbelievable that and extra few mm on the tyre can make so much difference.

Defo 255/30/20 also the tyre doesn’t look like an elastic band, fills the arch a lot nicer and no stretch on the wheel also. All roud winner :)

I have 255/30 on atm but was thinking of going 255/35/20 this time to make the car a little less harsh on the bumps .defo 255 are a much better fit on them.

I wouldn't go 255/35 as with a full car the Rear D/S wheel slightly rubs when going over a large speed bump with mine,
so I'm guessing 255/35 would rub a lot more and cause you some problems.

Normal driving its fine not an issue up and down the motorway etc no rubbing at all so I can live with that, just need to stay away from these extra large speed bumps haha

Ah didn’t want to hear that .i have about 15 speed bumps before i get onto clear roads leaving my house every day.

One reason I was going to 255/35/20 was the fact that I can’t get Michelin PS4’s in a 30 height only the 35. Pity they won’t fit as I wanted to try them this time as my Pirelli have went all shapes .

I have always run Good Year Eagle F1's on all my S3's and my 911 and they now have Asymmetric 3's which are ment to be the dogs b****ks.

At the moment have Achilles as I wanted to use budgets to see what the ride ets was like before committing to Good Years.

If you want to run 9x20’s & Lower your car 245/30/20’s won’t rub but if your standard height I’d go 255/30/20 as they’d look a bit better in the arches.

I’m 255/30 atm and lowered with only slight rub when full car load .i never have anymore than 2 in my car now though .

I have eibach springs which I think are like 20mm or something .i can’t remember tbh what they are .
