Hi guys, new to the forum, just picked up a 2009 A4 Quattro Tfsi last weekend. I have 2 questions I'm desperately looking for answers for..

1) Which cable (part no) can I buy to allow me to plug an iPhone 6s with lightning into the MMI interface? /does 30pin-to-lightning adapter work?

2) What's the cheapest way to make the car louder? It's so quiet and does unfortunately sound a bit like a diesel..

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks,

Mike

Cheapest way would be either cut the bottom half of your Air filter box off or the exhaust off at the manifold.

Hmm ok maybe not hack and slash cheap.. I saw that there's sound deadening under the bottom of the bonnet - would that be worth removing? Maybe look at a different back box?

I have ami cables for iPhone 6 etc pm me and I can get you genuine cable for cheaper than Audi

Nice one, enjoy :)
Agreed it does sound like a diesel with the timing chain. Best way for nice sounding car is probably a new stainless steel exhaust hand built. I had one on my 2004 2.0`t quattro and it sounded really nice and purr' y and bubbly . Was Longlife brand and hand built at local specialists cost £600 tho.

What mpg are you getting? as I have the same and think it's not the best , my old b7 got much better!
Granted your first month of it may see really poor mpg.. ;)
I get 16mpg in heavy town traffic , 24 in quiet town, and 34mpg on motorway, will do 37 if I do under 60mph..! But go over 75 and it plummets.
(But I was getting 37mpg on my b7 quattro at 80mph runs)

Best use 99ron petrol as these engines prefer it and give better power and mpg. When I got mine it wouldn't do better than 32mpg at 70ish now running V Power I'm getting 34 mpg at 70ish

Cheers

I am loving it so far, has to be said, it's such a beat compared to my old 1 series.

Hmm new exhaust system would be an idea just got a few bits I want to do and not sure where to start, wondered if there was an easier way of giving the tone a little more throat but maybe now :/

MPG wise it's actually really good, oddly seems to be better than the 118i 1 series I had too. On the hour and a half drive home after I purchased, I got up to 41 mpg! Although I have been doing some 'spirited driving' recently and it did sink to around 24 on one of those drives however still then balances out between 28-32 which is the average point I'd say - and I'm not much of a slouch haha

Never really been one to use higher grade fuel, don't really know enough about it just thought it was mainly suitable for older cars/supercars..

Drill a couple of holes in the exhaust !
41mpg is dream territory for mine,- unless you were steadily cruising at 55? gonna have to try new fuel filter and spark plugs.
