Audi A3 Sportback 2014 fan issues

Hi guys

We just bought a 2014 s line sportback
Its the 1.6tdi 103bhp version

Car is lovely but the problem we are having is we can do a five min journey from cold and the engine cooling fans are on full blast ?!?!
They stay on for a few mins after turning and locking up the car too

Has anyone any ideas ?
Ive checked water and oil levels
They are totally fine

Temp sensor that controls the fan?. Just bought it?... take it back to the garage you bought it from!. The fans will 'after run' to cool down the engine when you do turn the ignition off but not after a 5 min journey.

This may be the DPF cycle rather than engine cooling, if you are doing short journeys the car isn't having enough time to complete a cycle, if you take it for a blast down a motorway for 30 mins see if you have the same issue...

There will be some better informed people on here though, no doubt they'll comment soon so try not to worry just yet.

OK Guys thanks for that input we shall try the blast down the motorway see if that stops it
then if still doing it it can go back to the place we bought it

Sounds like it's trying a DPF regen. Diesel isn't really suited for short journeys, you need to be doing longer journeys with them really.

then if still doing it it can go back to the place we bought it

If concerned probably worth calling in on the garage just to get them to check it over for peace of mind. Good luck with it
