Is there any news on a release date for the RS3? Ive looked and cant find anything but thought someone on here may be "in the know". ??

Audi Press Release stated April 2017 for Europe orders and August 2017 for market launch......... April part was a lie.

His name was indeed Jordan but l find it difficult to understand the cockney accent.....lol but l think it was Whetstone, he's driving a Porsche Riviera Blue S3 just now so he knew exclusive colours where available, sounded like a guy you would like to buy car from very helpful indeed

It's on the Audi Media Centre page, for all to see!

I'm not too bothered when they arrive, I just want to know the price now haha. I've signed up to register my interest about 5 times, to make sure I'm on the list :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I did plan on waiting for an RS, but it all depends on the negative equity in the S3. I've told my dealer as soon as they make that go away I will be finalising an order, I refuse to pay to get out of the S3 when it is a great car anyway.

Looks as if I will be needing to go down the private sale route anyway, I might pop over to Bristol after my exams are finished and initiate contact with RS Direct Specialist Cars. I will get an Audi valuation now and compare their current offer to Audi, to see how it compares and then I have a rough guide up until the time comes.

A salesman had me run through what I meant by detailing etc and how the car is looked after, he just looked at me shocked and said that straight up they will never be able to give me what the car is worth and will never be able to find the specialist customer who wants a car that specific, a customer that cares about the details. He said most traders already have customers lined up for cars such as these so it's a good route to go down.

Another one on my list is SSC, Shark Specialist Cars which look good.

Jassy, wait and get an RS3!! You know you want to!!

PMSL... @TDI-line cheers buddy, my son has past my Audi build code onto his ex boss at Glasgow Audi, if he can't get me the colour just now then l will just wait , my last shot at the voodoo blue title lol

Your welcome, i thought it would make you chuckle. I was actually cracking up making the thread. ;)

Anyway, everyone post away and if you do find any exclusive colours, stick them on with the name if known.

Yeah he called me as well and left me a voice mail, I've contacted via email and waiting to hear back.

The figures have jumped up on the Audi website today by £400, so the coast2coast figures are down £400 on the quote they sent through.

For me they do something weird when you get to trim level. You have the base level than is £400 cheaper than base. The only other trim is Tech trim, which is the only way to add tech pack. Not sure why they put that as a trim level.

yeah l wondered about that as well, but once yer in verbal/email contact with the dealer you can amend this with the exact Audi configuration code as the MY spec changes are now up and running on Audi's configurator

l have never purchased a car with logic applied always with my heart mate lol as for the RS3.....it would be just too much hard work from even before purchasing to actually living with the car, l like the fact you can get a deal on a S3, l like the fact the S3 is easier to live with even after 2 years S3 ownership l am still very ocd with it,if l got a RS3 l think it would overtake a lot other things in my life....if l where 10 years younger l wouldn't think twice about getting one

I think you'd find the RS3 pretty easy to live with - running costs, servicing, insurance etc are all very similar imo.

Bizarrely it's the most practical car I've had in years being a 4 door hatch that seats 5 lol :)

Jeeeez that is a high RRP but it will be a unique car won't it & £6k off IRS make a huge difference I totally agree.

Will be interesting to see what value my car retains come part ex time as to whether an RS does or doesn't keep more residual than an S.

I'll be interested to see your voodoo car though pal, I think it will look & feel very special indeed

Yeah that sucks big time !

I'm kinda glad my 3rd set of wavy discs warped now & I got the optimised circular discs & new pads under warranty in March.

Hopefully they will last me for the time I have the car.

Still the oem discs TX.....

Just you'd have non squealing better pads in there, I'll testify to that.

Better than the Audi crap.

Oddly ... the new discs appear to shed less brake dust than the old wavy discs ?

Which is a good thing of course !

@Snake Pliskin - Pic's of the new disc's Audi fitted under warranty buddy ?

Here you go mate.
They look the same as those fitted to the TTRS & RS3 facelift ....

They are much thicker than the wavy discs so have greater heat resistence.

Snake.....

When you say they are 'so much thicker' are you saying you've measured them and they are thicker than 34mm ?

On ETKA they are still a 34mm disc.

Or are you saying the 2 faces are thicker and the middle slots narrower ?

Dealer commented on the extra thickness & weight of them compared to the wavy type.

I sssume this is for extra heat resistence as they are 'optimised' mainly to prevent warping. Audi will not supply them under warranty for squeal - just for warping only.

The feel & performance of the circular discs is so much better though. I never felt comfortable with the wavy discs & always sensed some faint vibration & they got incredibly hot very quickly even under moderate braking.

The circular discs have much better bite, I don't have to press the brake pedal anywhere near as hard, car stops quicker, less brake dust, smooth (normal) braking & they don't get as hot.

The wavy discs 'look' cool but that's about it.
The fact Audi have ditched them in favour of the circular says it all to me.

Top photo left to right Nogaro,Estoril, Sepang

Not a great photo of voodoo if l am honest but a stunning photo of Nogaro mate

Reason for Voodoo blue? It's in yer face, pearlescent and it's very rare, Nogaro blue has done it's rounds for a few years on Audi's, l have seen a few Nogaro blue S3's and even Sprint blue, which is almost identical to Sexy Ara blue

Voodoo not changing my mind,....???? Unless l can get good spec RS3 Sportback for a wee bit more a month

RS6 is yer classic RS.....mate but may l add, the Avant body style alone gives a more sporty presence then add the RS FULL MONTY wheel arch extentions on all 4 wings voila..... Ergo the German Hulk lol the RS6 shares the same chassis and engine as some Bentleys can't remember which specific model think it's the coupe but they're the same car underneath

It shares the platform with the Continental GT, which is also the same as the now defunct VW Pheaton I believe...
