MMI offline/not recognising sim?

My SIM card has just suddenly stopped being recognised when firmly in place. In the past the TMC would stay and I'd get no online showing. Popping the sim in and out would fix this on occasion. However today when going to Audi connect from MMI it's saying that there is no sim inserted.

Anyone have this issue?

I have read that others have had the 5F control unit replaced when having this issue
