I have recently ordered my new A3 Sportback which will be delivered in April. The price originally quoted (via Car Wow) was an OTR price including road tax. Just at point of placing order I noticed there was a £140 addition for the tax. I queried this with the dealer and the broker who basically blamed it on the government and said it only included it before April as it was zero then. Personally I think this is a bit of a sharp practice because they knew what the tax would be by the time they could get the car when they did the OTR quote. I tried to argue the toss but got nowhere with the dealer or the broker. I probably have a good case as it isn't really the OTR price as advertised (and the quote says in writing incl. road tax) but I'm not in the mood for a big battle over that amount. Just be warned and check any quotes you get in this cross over period.
